An intervention’s success depends on the relationship between worker and client. Through this course, providers are taught to establish a strong working alliance with their clients based on the virtues of respect, empathy, and trust.

This live online course is 3 hours per session for two days with the structure made flexible to accommodate your needs. The content is delivered through PowerPoint presentations, break-out group discussions, and role-plays, with time reserved for questions and answers.

Participants Emerge from the Training with Confidence in Their Ability to:

  • Engage with a client when offering services.

  • Handling difficult conversations with sensitivity, timing, and respect.

  • Respond to clients with empathy and develop a trusting relationship.

  • Strengthen and ensure consistent communication with clients.

  • Present as open, transparent, and honest when informing clients.

  • Honor the client’s right to self-determination.

  • Conduct thorough assessments that capture critical information and highlight the client’s strengths and resources.
